BDACS Earns 'Excellent' FAI Fintech Rating with $12.6M Market Trust Value
  • BDACS secures a score of 85.0 out of 100 and an ‘FAI-A (Excellent)’ rating from the Fintech Research Institute.
  • Regulatory compliance scores highest among the six evaluation categories at 19.5 out of 20.
  • FAI Market Trust Value is calculated at 16.8 billion KRW (approximately $12.6 million USD), backed by an industry-leading 80 billion KRW in Assets Under Custody (AUC).

BDACS, South Korea’s premier digital asset custodian, has been awarded a total score of 85 out of 100 and an ‘FAI-A (Excellent)’ rating in the FAI Fintech Recognition Index. The firm’s FAI Market Trust Value was assessed at 16.8 billion KRW (approximately $12.6 million USD).

According to the index report published by the Fintech Research Institute on September 3, BDACS was evaluated across six core categories: market reliability, regulatory compliance, growth potential, brand awareness, innovation, and public interest. Established in January 2022, BDACS specializes in institutional digital asset custody, providing advanced Multi-Party Computation (MPC) enterprise wallets and offline cold wallet management.

Leading the Industry in Regulatory Compliance

The firm demonstrated exceptional strength in financial trust and regulatory compliance, scoring 19.5 out of 20. BDACS completed its Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) registration in October 2024, marking the first successful case for a Busan-based enterprise. The firm has maintained ISMS certification for two consecutive years and acquired the SOC 1 Type 2 certification from KPMG in 2026. The evaluation highly recognized its institutional-grade compliance infrastructure, which includes five dedicated AML specialists, three information security experts, and robust KYC and Travel Rule solutions. Furthermore, no major security breaches, regulatory sanctions, or executive legal risks have occurred.

Market Reliability and Global Growth

In market reliability (21.5 out of 25), BDACS’s Assets Under Custody (AUC) served as a primary metric. With an AUC of 80 billion KRW as of April 2026, BDACS holds the top position in the domestic digital asset custody market, representing an estimated 26.7% share of the 300 billion KRW industry.

Growth potential (17.5 out of 20) reflected an estimated revenue increase from approximately 264 million KRW in 2024 to 539 million KRW in 2025, alongside aggressive global networking. BDACS is collaborating with Ripple on XRP and RLUSD custody and has integrated Galaxy Digital’s GK8 custody technology. The firm also maintains strategic alliances with global mainnets like Avalanche and Aptos, as well as Woori Bank for the KRW1 stablecoin infrastructure.

Innovation and Strategic Focus Areas

Innovation (8.5 out of 10) was backed by BDACS’s proprietary architecture combining MPC security with cold storage, alongside four pending technical patents. Regarding areas for future strategic focus, the report noted that brand awareness (11.0 out of 15) and public interest (7.0 out of 10) reflect the firm’s strictly B2B institutional nature, which naturally yields lower consumer-facing search volume and direct financial inclusion impacts than retail fintechs. While the current revenue scale is in a developmental phase relative to its massive AUC, this presents a clear roadmap for diversifying monetization models and expanding institutional outreach.

Understanding the $12.6M Market Trust Valuation

The FAI Market Trust Value of 16.8 billion KRW (approximately $12.6 million USD) is an index-specific metric distinct from traditional corporate equity valuation. It was calculated by deriving a foundational trust value of 7.32 billion KRW based on the 80 billion KRW AUC, and subsequently applying a 2.3x regulatory premium.

The score of 85 out of 100 places BDACS firmly in the second-highest tier of the index’s five-level grading system. The report outlined future strategic priorities for the firm, including revenue diversification, institutional brand expansion, and proactive responses to the evolving regulatory landscape affecting the global custody market.
