BDACS to Host ‘1DAY Ideathon’ in Busan This October to Boost Blockchain Ecosystem

Korean digital asset prime custody service provider BDACS announced it will host the BDACS 1DAY Ideathon on Sunday, October 26, 2025, in Exhibition Hall 1 at the Busan Exhibition & Convention (BEXCO) Center in the beach city of Busan, South Korea. The event aims to discover creative digital service ideas leveraging blockchain technology and to invigorate the blockchain ecosystem in Busan, the second largest city in South Korea.

Designed to address the overconcentration of blockchain events and talent in Seoul, BDACS is launching this initiative to drive tangible ecosystem development within the Busan Blockchain Regulation-Free Zone, and takes advantage of the infrastructure that the Busan Metropolitian City Government has created for up-and-coming blockchain projects. The Ideathon will also generate strategic synergy with the 2025 Blockchain Week in Busan (BWB) Event, organized by the Busan Digital Asset Exchange (BDAN), focusing on technology- and business-driven solutions centered in the region.

The event is noteworthy for the participation of global Layer 1 platforms and blockchain technology providers as sponsors and judges. Leading blockchain projects such as Avalanche, Polymesh, GK8, and BDAN will be on-site, enabling participants to develop their ideas directly on a multi-chain ecosystem infrastructure. Evaluation will go beyond conceptual planning, prioritizing feasible, multi-chain–based projects with an emphasis on technical implementation and practical use cases.

Through the Ideathon, BDACS will provide participants with opportunities from both developer and business perspectives. In addition to collaboration prospects with the BDACS development team and global blockchain partners, outstanding participants will be offered internship positions at BDACS in either Busan or Seoul. This initiative aims to foster a long-term pipeline for recruitment, technical collaboration, and even potential startups beyond the scope of the one-day competition.

The event is open to anyone aged 19 or older and will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Participants may form teams on-site or join with pre-developed concepts, and will be tasked with designing and presenting multi-chain–based projects.

A total of seven winning teams will share KRW 6 million in prize money, including the Grand Prize of KRW 1.5 million. Additional prizes include two Second Prizes (KRW 1 million each), two Third Prizes (KRW 500,000 each), and two Honorable Mentions (KRW 400,000 each). Winners will also receive high-impact benefits such as hands-on networking with global Layer 1 companies, and follow-up commercialization support.

BDACS CEO Harry Ryoo commented, “This Ideathon will be a stage for experimentation and challenge centered on blockchain technology, and a gateway for local youth to enter the global networks of innovators and industry leaders. We expect it to play a pivotal role in solidifying Busan’s identity as a blockchain special zone and in attracting a technology-based ecosystem.”

Teams of one to five members may apply, provided all participants are aged 19 or older. Registration is available via the QR code displayed on the event poster, and further details will be announced through BDACS’s official website and social media channels.
