BDACS-ZEKTO-Life4Cuts MOU
BDACS, a specialized digital asset infrastructure company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with digital asset payment solutions provider ZEKTO and LK Ventures, the operator of Life4Cuts, to pilot a Korean won (KRW) stablecoin payment system.
The core of this agreement involves integrating KRW1, a KRW-pegged stablecoin issued by BDACS, directly into the payment and settlement systems of offline retail locations for a pilot operation. Consumers will be able to experience a next-generation Web3 payment environment powered by a KRW stablecoin firsthand in familiar everyday settings such as photo booths.
KRW1 Stablecoin
KRW1, which will be used in the pilot, is a fully KRW-backed, regulation-compliant stablecoin. It serves as a core payment and settlement infrastructure that bridges on-chain transactions with off-chain finance, supporting seamless value transfer and real-time payments environments between digital assets and traditional financial systems.
To build this payment ecosystem, ZEKTO plans to deploy a KRW1-based payment and settlement system across the consumer retail space. In March, ZEKTO obtained a patent for a stablecoin service system covering the operation and management of blockchain-based collateralized stablecoins, underscoring its focus on payment reliability. Building on this technology, ZEKTO aims to establish a secure and transparent payment environment for both consumers and merchants.
Life4Cuts, the brand at the center of the integration, is a leading global self-photo booth chain, operating more than 1,000 locations across 30 countries and drawing over 3.8 million customers each month. With this stablecoin payment system, international tourists visiting its stores in Korea will be able to complete transactions effortlessly, without the burden of currency exchange or high credit card fees. The move is also expected to open significant opportunities to extend the payment framework to Life4Cuts’ overseas locations.
